Texas thinks that 16 years old should be allowed to marry 60 year olds. They should spend more time protecting actual living human children instead of cartoons. When they needed to pass the bill to protect children, it failed in committee https://legiscan.com/TX/bill/HB924/2023.
@ProstasiaInc why do you think that 16 year olds are little children requiring legal protection?
Many countries have both an age of consent and marriageable age of 16.
Child protection shouldn’t come at the expense of youth autonomy. Please read some papers by Hoko Horii on adolescent marriage (focusing on the Indonesian case).
