Anyone recommend a lightweight image editor for Ubuntu?

I'm looking for something for very quick editing of screen shots & similar. Typical work flow to capture an image, crop / resize it, add a highlight or a note, then copy and paste into a doc. Gimp seems a bit clunky / overly complex / gimpish for this.

@philbarker photopea.com/ - "photoshop like editor" in your browser, nothing to install and will be amazed by features.
Of course, it can crop image as well :)
