@Pat I am using the term loosely with a tongue in cheek, but according to wikipedia, when Twitter had begun to "filter more into the mainstream", it started "a culture of celebrity as Shaq, Britney Spears and Ashton Kutcher joined the ranks of the Twitterati." Now Elon Musk is considering charging those people for 'blue tick' (verified celeb) accounts, some are threatening to leave the platform.

What are the "Twitterati"? I haven't been on twitter in a very long time. Are those like the Bavarian Illuminati, working to advance the values of the enlightenment, or is it a reference to the more contemporary meaning, just grasping conspirators who seek power?
