More news on my crash into the China hutch. The cuts on my hand wouldn’t stop bleeding. Had to call an ambulance. They to me to a new hospital. I was in the emergency room, handled with care, but the bleeding wouldn’t stop for several hours. I was released with antibiotics and a bill for less than five dollars. National Health Insurance in Japan is an affordable necessity. I have to return in five days to be checked and have the dressings changed.Taxi home cost twenty dollars.

@Dennis1212 Oh good for an update! Yeah, the "stop bleeding please" problem. I'm glad they were able to help.

My mom is on dialysis. She needs this to live. Her fistula (a crafted vein to facilitate the dialysis procedure) became infected, so last week she was to have the infection removed drained so she could proceed with dialysis as normal.

Something went wrong (she's thousands of miles away from me) and is still in the hospital. She doesn't have sepsis, but the doctors were looking for something in mom's brain because she wasn't "responsive."

My sister: She needs dialysis.

Dr: She's not very responsive.
Sis: She's in pain. She needs dialysis.

Dr.: Well, we just want to...

Sis: She does what you want. She squeezes your hand, she wiggles her toes. Mom's in agony. I wouldn't respond much to you either. DIALYSIS! NOW!

I don't think my sister is terribly impressed with mom's medical care. But then again this is Indiana, home of "let's legislate the value of Pi to around 3.2 because this guy will sell his theory to us on squaring the circle cheap for our education programs!" forbes.com/sites/kionasmith/20

SO glad I left Indiana! And I'm glad you got the medical attention you needed. I do keep an eye out for you, and I appreciate the update.

@Romaq I am saddened to learn of the mistreatment of your mother. She shouldn’t have to endure incompetence. Meanwhile my bandages are bloody. The anticoagulant I take to prevent another clot in my brain is not helping my clashed fingers. I have to keep them elevated above my head. I need a styptic.😅

@Dennis1212

Yeah, I can see that being a tough one. "We could cure the bleeding at the cost of killing you with stroke" is not a good thing to hear.

Good luck. I'm thinking of some kind of plant hanger that you put like a floor lamp, then you can sit with the plant hanger suspending your hand. That's be awkward, and you have your beau to try to help while *NOT* getting Covid. Good luck. No need to respond if you need to save your typing for important things. I'll keep watching for updates as you can produce them. :)

@Romaq I sit on the right side of our two person, separately reclinable love seat, so I I can rest my left elbow on the back, keeping the hand elevated. Cheers.
