At the 11th hour on the 11th day of the 11th month of 1918 the guns were to fall silent, but shelling continued until nightfall. The war did end that day, and those who survived were able to go home.

Today we honor those who served, and we hope that one day the guns WILL fall silent and that humanity will have survived.
