@colincornaby People often miss the point that such features are a server specific feature. You've simply chosen a server that doesn't make such things easy. The server I'm on has a button under the post for quoting. It also supports posts up to 64k characters.

I don't much care whether there are positive or negative aspect. Quote posts deliberately break a thread, like I've done hear. The people replying to your thread are not seeing this post. You are only seeing it because I '@'ed you

That said, I rarely find it necessary to quote toot. Why would I want to exclude your followers from the conversation?
