The former guy refers to the January 6 defendants as “hostages” and “political prisoners.” We must never forget this: They are people who physically assaulted police officers while trying to stop the peaceful transfer of power. They are no heroes. They are convicted felons.

The Senate Judiciary Committee wants to subpoena Harlan Crow and Leonard Leo due to their influence peddling around Supreme Court justices. But Republicans on the committee are holding things up with multiple amendments and other requests, trying to run out the clock. Republicans care about corruption. They just want to protect their own.

One of the reasons Christo-fascists are so successful in the US is other, mostly white self-identified Christians assume they're on the same team and reading from the same book or that they'll somehow be exempted from the worst of the fascist part of Christo-fascism.

Whenever Republicans lose elections, they start talking about how democracy is bad and what we really need is a feudal alliance of theocrats and wealthy oligarchs telling us what to do.

This is what the GOP Fascist Party does. Nothing matters but what they want, and the only laws, regulations, or votes that apply are those that benefit them. Trump 101.

Been perusing late 17th and early 18th century texts, as one is wont to do, when I came across this pronoun rant.

Listen, I hate telling people what to do but stop fucking recording yourself giving money to houseless people. If you need the clap on the back for motivation just tell people about it.

One of the weirdest things in the US is that Supreme Court Justices only need 51 of 100 Senate votes to be put into a lifetime position — earned or not — but officers in the military need 100 of 100 votes to get a promotion that they earned and one nut job senator can prevent the promotion. That's a broken rule that should be changed.
