A bit bummed out with @sir leaving fedi. I know I might have added to the less-than-excellent experience at one point long ago. One more reason to try harder at not doing that.

I remember being blocked by @sir times ago because I argued that #GCC management of undefined behaviour in C was correct, by C specification.
And that in fact, undefined behaviours in #C have an important role in the language, to allow compiler specific implementations, useful in some contexts.
Tbh, I think that @sir, as brilliant as he IS as a developer, did not looked for a #social media, but for a cheap #marketing platform.
As such, any factual correction or objection that hurt his image was considered as a loss instead of as a chance to learn new things.
