Out of curiosity: do you know who was the most prominent sponsor at when they refused the ?

Calling the SSPL a "proprietary license" on this ground is a bit misleading.

It's not an opensource license if and only if OSI gatekeeping is what qualify (hint: it doesn't, they always refuse this responsibility): they did not give their bless, because license proliferation, yadda yadda... but they blessed the license which was much more... "innovative".

MongoDB's license is a slightly modified but... OSI won't beat the hands that feed them, right?
