Amanda Marcotte notes that across the US, there's a mounting series of legislative and rhetorical efforts by Republicans to curtail rights of LGBTQ people to get medical care, access public spaces, and express themselves.
And even as Republicans are ramping up the LGBTQ hate, as Marcotte also notes, PRRI finds 80% of Americans including a large majority of religious ones support laws that prohibit discrimination against LGBTQ human beings.

The question I would have liked to of seen asked in the survey would have been: What’s more important to you, having your taxes cut or LGBTQ civil rights? I think that’s where the rubber meets the road.
