The Biden admin’s infrastructure bill in 2021 mandated that any new car sold after 2026 should have a
computer system that can “passively monitor the performance of a driver of a motor vehicle” and “prevent or limit motor vehicle operation if an impairment is detected”.

I’ve often wondered why drunk driving isn’t treated like a technology problem and it looks like the US government agrees and passed a law that flew under the radar.

I suspect people will be mad in 2026
