This interview of Rep. María Elvira Salazar (R-FL) demonstrating that she takes credit for laws she voted against is absolutely fantastic.

But it's also incredibly rare in American media. That's because the "both sides" framework is not a mistake. They deliberately choose to coddle Republicans and allow them to get away with blatant lying.

We need more journalism like what CBS reporter Jim DeFede engaged in here.

It's time to end the "right privilege" that reactionary Republicans enjoy.

What’s so frustrating about this is that it’s not difficult for a reporter to do this. The fear of being direct in our media is such a liability for our democracy. It’s like they all fear politicians will accuse them of being impolite and even, heaven forbid, LIBERAL 😱

@SpinozasHeresy It's "right privilege," the product of years of bullying by reactionaries to cow not just moderate Republicans, but anyone else who would criticize their abusive incompetence.
