Instead of being yanked by the Trump “squirrel!” trick. Step back and chill
Remember how Mexico was going to pay for the wall? 🙄So why is everyone running around with their hair on fire now? Trump hasn’t even been inaugurated yet! The buffoon is a blowhard and he loves to watch his enemies bleat and run in to each other. Get it? That’s the schtick. Wanna be woke? Wake up to the stupid trick. Wanna be effective? Start implying he’s weak every time he says something. Look at how he is responding to Musk trying to assert himself. Donnie doesn’t want to lose control.
@heidilifeldman No use pointing out every piece in a flood of garbage.
I’ll stand my ground and fight, thanks. I’m not running away from these weenies.
Yes!! The only evidence we need to concern ourselves with is why it is that 11 million people that showed up for Biden in 2020 didn’t show up for Harris in 2024. There is nary a peep about this hard fact. Nada. Nothing. I hear a lot of explanations about stupidity and fascism and, oh yeah, dumb rednecks. But I don’t hear any explanations for why 11 million people didn’t show up. Perhaps that requires a level of self reflection beyond pure emotion
Dang! I I thought “I” was old😉😃
Happy Birthday to Kurt Vonnegut! Sleep tight as best you can 😊

We Californians have been hearing that said about our state since 1977 when Anita Bryant pulled herself out of obscurity and discovered gay bashing could become a thing.
Hmmm. I unearthed my face from the iPhone this morning and looked out the window. To my surprise the world had not ended! Maybe I should spend more time looking at the actual world instead of trafficking in the imagined worlds of a billion people with their heads buried in their iPhones?
Naaaahhhh...
I think the glaring issue to grapple with is the fact that Trump didn’t get that many more votes in this election than in 2020. The key question for me is why Harris received approximately 11 million less votes than Biden. That’s a dramatic drop. What changed? If liberals don’t unflinchingly self-reflect on why the drop occurred we’re doomed to repeat our mistakes again and again.

Long commutes and cost of living seem to outweigh, ehem, “cultural distinctives”.

You have real concerns about complacency and laziness. Do you think that cynicism is complacent and lazy?
Sure. I’m liberal. I’m also not afraid of numbers. And when the numbers yield results I don’t want or like I’m not going to waste my time moaning about who’s at fault and the consequences of the numbers. I’m going to STFU and get to work figuring out why the numbers are the way they are and WTF I’m going to do about it.
I don’t disagree with you in regards to people being complacent. Living in a corral built by CEOs is easy. Human networks can be uncomfortable and unstable. However, the archaeological record contains plenty of evidence regarding the development and sustainment of human networks. Human networks are far more primal than global corporate networks. I’d be happy to provide you with evidence if you’re unaware of it.
CEOs can build all the corrals they want, but in the end, humans build networks. Always have and always will. We are wired for it. And ultimately we decided if we want to live in someone else’s corral or in the network of our choice.
Jiu-jitsu liberal. Couldn't drink well enough to be a writer or a lawyer. Became a stoned philosopher instead. Sometimes pay the bills.
