We’ve been sold the “great man” for well over a century. Alone. Resolute. One of those did not ignite fusion for the 1st time last week. Our western myths gloss over that the first transcontinental railroad was financed and subsidized by federal and state governments. We forget westward expansion was fueled by the Homestead Act (free land). Rhode Island District Court denies a preliminary injunction against large capacity magazine ban finding that they are not "arms" within the plain text of the Second Amendment. If a venture capital made no attempt to monetize the Internet, I’m not sure we would have the Internet we have today. It had to centralize before it decentralized or it would never be viable. The exciting thing is that the walled gardens we live in have outgrown their usefulness and only occupy a few square inches of the vast real estate that is the Internet. I think we’re at the beginning of a new land rush, and we don’t quite know what to call it yet. Maybe we should be thanking Elon Musk?
I’d really love to see Morocco win today because, well, France. Just sayin’.

File under dribs and drabs: for those that might not know, Orange county was thick with the Klan for the better part of the 20th century. In fact, they really never went away and are alive and well in places like Huntington Beach. However, this is a pretty big deal:

The confederacy was never given a proper burial. Poetic justice would be that those most harmed by the confederacy would finally put a bullet in the zombie. I wasn’t sure what I thought of this when I first saw it, but after the Warnock a victory in Georgia, it’s starting to make sense to me.
