Yes, I'm a "bigot" and a "terf" because I believe it's wrong for self-identifying men to insert themselves into women's spaces, especially prisons where the female inmates have no hope of escaping male assault. Now they have to contend with male guards AND male inmates. Most "transwomen" in the prison population have been convicted of sexual offenses. The people who support this make me sick. irishmirror.ie/news/irish-news

@Briseesit In my experience with corrections, in South Caroling at least, there is an attempt to keep female officers with female inmates in those prisons.

It's honestly easier for everyone and protects against all sorts of potential issues.

It would be even better if they kept the male and female inmate populations sex segregated as well. @Surasanji

@Briseesit As far as I'm aware they still do in South Carolina.

@Briseesit But, don't think that women's prison isn't already filled with predators or nice people. The women there ARE felons who often committed violent crimes.

That’s not the point is it? they are housing violent MEN who are bigger, stronger, more prone to violence and sexual assault than 99.9 % of females in the female prison population. Google Karen White if you want to see how well this kind of situation turns out. Do you agree with housing men with women in women’s shelters and prisons? @Surasanji

@Briseesit Lord, no. Men do not belong in women's prisons. They especially don't belong in shelters or other places that are meant to be safe for women.

That being said, you're fooling yourself if you think those things don't happen all the time in women's prison. There is a much higher prevalence of predatory behaviors among felons, regardless of biological sex.

I'm afraid I can't agree with that percentage based on personal knowledge and experience of the prison systems.

I never claimed otherwise, so I’m not sure why you bothered to bring it up other than as a straw man. I’m talking about housing men in women’s prisons. At no point did I say that female felons aren’t dangerous, although I believe a large segment of the women’s prison population is in for drug possession and other non-violent offenses. Male pattern violence is a thing, and the “but they do it too” argument doesn’t fly here. Glad to hear that you don’t believe men should be allowed into women’s prisons or other safe spaces, though. @Surasanji
