This isn't news. It's well known that if you have roaches, you will have loads of them in every constantly connected device in your home. Game consoles, computers, set top boxes, TVs, alarm clocks, radios...
No, Sony doesn't need to design smaller vents. You need to get your roach problem handled! This is why when I stayed somewhere with roaches, I checked my laptop once a week and kept it in its bag, zipped shut, when not in use.
If you have this problem, make sure you check your power bricks!
