Thank you, Jojo. I appreciate your contribution.

I posted links and proof, Mister. Never once denied that it is a practice that has happened and still happens in a minority of communities.
You just ignored everything I said and kept shouting the same thing like some fucking retard. Explains why you have the Avi of a paper cup, I guess. Just there to be filled with apple JOOOOOOOOOOOOOS

That's the point, Wir. It's not performed 99.9% of the time. It's a vestigial leftover from an iron age ceremony when it was a viable method of wound cleaning. Suction is still a viable method of wound cleaning, and while it isn't done with the mouth the concept of 'sucking a wound' clean or free of poison or foreign contaminants is not unheard of or unknown.
In the modern day it is not much practiced anymore. Even the Modern Orthodoxy don't do it. They use antiseptic, and standard surgical cleaning techniques now.
Anyways, it's really a moot point. It's something you're connecting and holding onto so you can rationalize hating a people to make your world seem a little less chaotic. If that's what you need to get through the day, you do you.

It's not quite what WIR is saying it is, but it one of those things that causes controversy even within the Jewish community. The vast majority of even religious communities do not endorse or continue this particular aspect of the ceremony anymore.
I've been to dozens of brit milah and never seen it done- and they ran the gamut of VERY religious to exceedingly reformed.

Yeah, it's sort of fucked when we have better methods now that we're not in the fucking iron age anymore.
Modern jews- even most modern ultra orthodox- do not use that method. But, like with any group there are always weirdos who keep up the 'old ways'.

You're looking at an iron age circumcision religious ceremony. There is, within the laws, a requirement to clean the wound via suction . Only in the most orthodox communities is it done by mouth. 99.9% of the rest of us just use antiseptics like a normal person.
It's thought the practice came around to help prevent infection by ensuring the wound was completely clean.
Account has been Depreciated. Thanks for all the fun, QOTO!
