@fsfe you now frequently use the term "Open Source" or Free and "Open" which implies that you support using that term.
Free Software and Open Source are not the same thing.

Free Software is about Freedom, Right and Wrong.
Those who campaign for Free Software consider it an an injustice if any one of the freedoms is missing and are activists for a lack of a better term.

Open Source is a business model, buzz word, and non-activist term.

We should not be using this term "Open" or "Open Source" otherwise it reverses the efforts that we have fought for so long on the importance of why the licenses etc are the way they are.

Don't get me wrong, there may be some FSFE staff, volunteers who haven't meant any wrong intentionally, I get that.

That said, I would like to ask kindly that we all stick to using the Free Software movement terminology so that we don't stray away and start accepting things that are an injustice.

I have to disagree with your conclusion that "open source" is interchangeable with "Free Software".

Companies like Microsoft and others produce what they call "open source" software which goes against everything I stand for in the Free Software Movement.

Digital Restrictions Management, promotion of other non-free technologies is very harmful but often associated by those who use the Open Source terminology.
