@desvox tbh ncmpcpp does mpd stuff better than emms / mpd.el
@desvox I mean, I wouldn't say "of course"

Emacs does git, email, and irc better than most things.

Music and multimedia just isn't really it's thing (yet).
@wizard @desvox I love it how a single-threaded application which is just an extendable editor just sucks at loading any inbox above 100.000 emails.
Email via Emacs is more like an reactionary "would it work? of course! let's do it!" than being useful. Gnus is kinda okay, but only if you archive mail occasionally.

But that's just me...
@ng0 @desvox Gnus is where you're going wrong, most people use mu4e or whatever else.

Gnus causes the whole thing to be slow.

But Emacs recently got threading support, it's only a matter of time before someone patches it into gnus, I suppose...
@wizard @desvox I tried most clients, even the interface to notmuch. Then I went back to what I used before.

Threading support is news to me, sounds good!
@ng0 @desvox tbh I don't use emacs for email anyway. I've got like 5 inboxes I'd want to sort and I've been too lazy to sort out that elisp mess.

But I want to eventually!
@wizard @ng0 @desvox
I am still on protonmail and that might have been a wrong choice.
I have a cock.li as well but I don't actually use that one.

My old gmail account is just for spam because gmail is from google and I honestly don't trust their company so I don't use their services unless I have to.

@TheGnuMaster @rmw @desvox @wizard @ng0 Thanks for the recommendation. 😀 If you have any questions, let us know, we're here to help!
