What an odd tradition. When I buy a new vacuum cleaner as a gift for Valentine's Day I demonstrate how effective it is at keeping the house clean, when used by me, a dude with mediocre housekeeping skills at best.
Then I get one of the kids to finish the rest of the house.
But as a queer, our silly customs may often seem quite foreign to others....
