Due to fears of being forced to leave the Ukrainian territories of Oleshky and Skadovsk in the Kherson region, the Russian-backed authorities are reportedly preparing to flee to the Crimean peninsula. Starting from February 21, local collaborators have been reported to be travelling to Bakhchisarai, Simferopol and Kerch, and since February 24, the occupiers have announced an evacuation to anyone who wishes to join them.
