Six-year-old Maryna from Kherson region in Ukraine has been given a prosthetic restoration after suffering an amputation due to a war injury. She had been receiving treatment and rehabilitation at Okhmatdyt for 10 months, after a shell hit her house and caused severe injuries to her legs. Physical and psychological rehabilitation was provided to help her prepare for prosthetics, and a psychologist was also on hand to ensure emotional calm and positive emotions. Maryna was the first child to receive prosthetics in Ukraine, and her prosthesis was made in Kyiv at Orthotech Service. It has now been improved to look like a real leg, which will help her to overcome her psychological fear and socialize with her peers. The hospital team continues to work with Maryna and her family, wishing them health.
