The State Border Guard Service has been working with the EU and Moldova to prevent illegal crossings of the border since the start of the full-scale invasion. If the man who died on the Tisza had made it to Romania, he would have been sent back to Ukraine and held accountable for his actions. People who attempt to apply for refugee status without any valid reasons will be denied. The Service is asking those who are organizing illegal travel to stop doing so. Fugitives who are returned from abroad cannot be considered refugees.
