He can just stay in Russia
Former Ukrainian national football player Anatoliy Tymoshchuk is appealing the sanctions imposed on him by the Ukrainian Football Association in the Sports Arbitration Court.
Currently, Tymoshchuk is a football player and assistant head coach of the Russian football club Zenit.
After the start of the full-scale invasion, he did not speak out about Russian aggression in Ukraine. As a result, he was banned for life from any football activity in Ukraine and stripped of all his titles and medals from the Ukrainian championship, Cup and Super Cup.
At the end of 2022, Tymoshchuk called Russia's war against Ukraine a "special military operation" and added that he saw no difference between the Ukrainian and Russian peoples. Last year, the footballer was also included in the NSDC's sanctions list of public figures.
