Armenia ratified the Rome Statute of the ICC, which issued an arrest warrant for Putin
The document was supported by 60 deputies, 22 were against. Armenia began the process of ratification of the Rome Statute at the end of 2022, and the document itself was signed by the Armenian side in 1999. It still needs to be signed by Armenian President Vahagn Khachatryan.
The approval of the Rome Statute also means that, theoretically, during a visit to Armenia, Russian President Putin and children's ombudsman Lvova-Belova could be detained in connection with an ICC arrest warrant issued against them.
The Kremlin called this decision “extremely hostile” towards Russia. Now the route to Yerevan for the bunker is closed.
