The International Football Federation (FIFA) allowed Russian youth teams to participate in the U-17 World Cup.
They approved this decision after a similar one from UEFA, which allowed juniors from Russia to participate in European competitions.
Russian teams will play under the name "Football Union of Russia", without a national flag, anthem and equipment with Russian symbols.
◾Earlier, the football associations of Romania, Ireland, Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Norway, Poland, England, Ukraine and a number of other countries opposed UEFA's decision to allow Russian U-17 teams to compete. They promised to boycott Russian teams and not play with them.
