🕯 Nationwide minute of silence.
On April 30, 2022, Lyubov Panchenko, an outstanding Ukrainian artist, fashion designer, sixty-year-old, died in a capital hospital. During the Russian occupation of Bucha, she stayed in her house. She lived alone. She needed medical help and care, but she could not get it under the conditions of the occupation. She was 84 years old.
"On March 2, my husband stopped by my aunt's house and left a package with groceries. And the next day, the city was occupied by the Russian military. Lisova Bucha, where my aunt lived, was isolated. The soldiers were not allowed there or let out, and those who managed to pass came back alive. Lyubov Mykhailovna's neighbor was cooking food on the fire. One day her dog came up to him. The neighbor realized that he needed to follow him to the house. The aunt was not feeling well. He brought her liquid food, tried to feed her, but she ate almost nothing ",
- said niece Iryna.
Lyubov's work has always had Ukrainian motifs. She wove national ornaments into drawings and clothing design. During the Soviet occupation, she defended the Ukrainian language and culture. The USSR authorities persecuted the artist for her Ukrainian position.
