The SBU detained a traitor in Odessa who wanted to run for the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine to spy for the FSB

In the last month, the person involved was actively engaged in "promoting" his own image as a potential candidate for People's Deputies of Ukraine.

To do this, he joined a local public organization that deals with environmental issues, and also placed his political advertisement on several passenger buses running around the city.

According to the investigation materials, the money for both "projects" was allocated by the Russian special service. Separately, he also requested a reward of 5.5 thousand US dollars every month.

It is also documented that the Russian agent tried to identify the locations of the air defense and coastal defense facilities of the city, including the anti-ship complexes of the Armed Forces.

Employees of the SBU detained the suspect "red-handed" during his preliminary reconnaissance of the area near one of the Ukrainian facilities.
