"Russia would be eager to strike America, but in a certain way, Ukraine stands in the path of this," stated former Polish president, Lech Wałęsa

Speaking as part of the "Prosperity and Development" project by the Washington-based analytical Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS), Walesa expressed regret for not being able to achieve a decision on Ukraine and Belarus joining NATO during his presidency.

"We must do everything possible to assist the Ukrainians. They are incredibly courageous people fighting for their freedom and ours. We cannot allow ourselves to fail. We must continue providing military aid," Walesa emphasized, as reported by Voice of America.

The leader in the liberation of Poland from Soviet influence is confident in Ukraine's potential to prevail. However, he foresees a resurgence of Russian aggression within the next 20 years.
