A Marine from Crimea has been trying for a year and a half to get discharged from service after being wounded. He went into the hospital with two herniated discs and came out with three.
Yuri is a defendant in the case of unauthorized abandonment of a unit. In 2022, he took part in the so-called “SMO” as part of the 810th Guards Brigade of the Black Sea Fleet. He fought for only a short time - he signed the contract at the beginning of the summer, and already in early September he was seriously injured and received a concussion during another useless assault on the village of Bezymyannye.
The shell-shocked Yura and his colleagues were denied medical care, and after the military hospital a hernia was found in the Marine. When the young man fainted on the street, his relatives sent him to Moscow for treatment".
At the end of 2023, Yuri managed to obtain a medical examination - on January 10, doctors from Burdenko gave him a “D” fitness category. In the certificate, Yuri has several diagnoses, renal dystopia, discogenic radiculopathy, he cannot walk for more than 15 minutes, bend his legs properly, or move sharply as he loses orientation. These could have ended up in category “B” or “D” for him, but the doctors assessed the diseases as acceptable for the service.
Yesterday Yuri went to the new military unit to ask for another medical examination. According to a relative of the young man, military investigator Denis Grishan came and took him straight from the unit. According to the latest information, Yuri should be in the detention center on Babushkinskaya. A relative of Yuri told that the young man was refused painkillers and other medicines needed.
Yuri does not receive any monetary allowance, or even payment for his injuries.
His trial is scheduled for February 28th, he is expected be sent to a pre-trial detention center. He faces 10 years in prison.
