“The contractions started: I practically couldn’t walk, and they put me out on the street". Pregnant women were urgently discharged from the maternity hospital in Rostov, since wounded military personnel will now be treated there.
All patients were urgently discharged from the former maternity hospital No. 5 in Rostov-on-Don at the end of February and in March they began to receive military personnel wounded in Ukraine, writes 161.ru.
“It was on my shift. I went to the delivery room to pick up the Caesarean, to pick up the baby and saw people [in uniform]. Then these people came down to our second floor and I asked who it was. The midwife girls said: “These are warriors.” Well, you can’t hide it in a bag, we were told that there would be a military hospital here,” says the nurse. “The manager said: “They are looking for a building for a military hospital.” They asked how much equipment and monitors we have,” a maternity hospital employee told the publication.
All women in labour were discharged by the end of February: they were sent to the Central City Hospital, the regional perinatal center or the 20th hospital, journalists write. The patient, who was discharged on February 22, was forced to go to give birth in Novocherkassk, since the perinatal center was “closed for cleaning”.
“On February 22, I was nominated the day before the birth. On the morning of the 23rd, contractions began: I could practically not walk, but they put me out on the street, and I had to go to a consultation for a new direction. Some were left until the 26th, some were transported by ambulance, others were thrown out,” said the Rostov resident.
