According to The Times, citing a “senior source,” the UK foreign secretary told Trump that the new aid would help Ukraine hold the front line and provide the “best possible conditions” for a deal between the parties.

These words significantly contradict the official position of Britain, which publicly declares its support for Ukraine until it defeats Russia.

British Prime Minister Sunak, when asked to comment on the Times article, said that he had not seen the article in question, but emphasized that London's position has not changed and that “Putin must be defeated.”
