Every year on the last weekend of May, the capital of Ukraine celebrates Kyiv Day

It is not known how old Kyiv actually is. Some sources mention the year of the foundation of the capital as 852, but this is not certain. In fact, this is the first written mention of Kyiv with a fixed date in "The Tale of Bygone Years". A city or settlement likely existed long before that.
