5 orphans deported to Russia were returned to Ukraine

"We managed to save five pupils of the Novopetriv boarding school in the Mykolaiv region. The children survived for 3 months on the lonely front line, hiding from bombs and rockets in the basement without food and water, and then also experienced the horrors of deportation. In mid-July 2022, they were kidnapped by the Russians at gunpoint and moved to the occupied territory," said Mykola Kuleba, the founder of the Save Ukraine organization.

In October 2022, the occupiers took them to Crimea, and then to Anapa, Krasnodar Territory. From there, the children were rescued and taken to a safer territory, to Georgia.
