The AN-26-100 plane might have crashed after the landing gear touched the airport fence.

According to first reports, it was a human error. Due to heavy fog and poor visibility, the pilots of the UTair aircraft, which had 36 passengers on board, lowered the landing gear earlier than necessary, so that the plane hit the fence and crashed down. This version has not yet been officially confirmed.

Pilot Igor Ch. and co-pilot Alexey R. received injuries of different severity. One of the passengers was also injured.

The airport is currently not accepting flights.

Seems strange to me, either their airport fences are exceptionally high or their final descent exceptionally low... but okay, I never experienced a landing approach in ruZZia. Thank dog.
