The Russian Federation is increasingly hiring PR firms to create digital propaganda while covering its tracks. Some of the companies that created fake websites and social media profiles are already under US sanctions.

The disinformation focuses on presidential candidates, voting, and controversial issues such as immigration, crime, and the war in Gaza. The ultimate goal is to get Americans to spread fake news without questioning its origin.
