A prisoner of war from the Azov brigade, Oleksandr Ishchenko, died in a Russian detention center, the Russian media outlet Mediaphone reported. The causes and circumstances of the death are currently unknown.

The soldier was 55 years old. In February 2022, he joined the Azov TRO as a military driver, and in the spring he was taken prisoner by Russia. He was accused of “participating in the activities of a terrorist organization” and “attempting to seize power by force.”

Azov's press service told Suspilne they did not comment on the information.
