Ankara seeks to strengthen its global influence and establish new ties beyond its traditional Western allies, as the Erdoğan administration believes the "geopolitical center of gravity is shifting away from Western economies."

However, Turkey does not intend to distance itself from NATO.

Currently, BRICS includes Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa, the UAE, Iran, Egypt, and Ethiopia.
