🇰🇵 North Korean soldiers are already fighting in Ukraine, and several thousand North Korean troops are undergoing training in Russia and may be deployed to the front lines in the future, according to the Institute for the Study of War.
Citing The Washington Post, analysts report that South Korean and Ukrainian officials have stated that North Korean soldiers are already operating alongside Russian forces in Ukraine.
A representative of Ukrainian military intelligence stated that some North Korean officers are observing Russian troops and studying the battlefield in Russian-occupied territories of Ukraine. However, Ukraine has not yet seen North Korean units actively operating in Ukraine.
“A Ukrainian official added that ‘several thousand’ North Korean infantrymen are being trained in Russia, and the Russian military command may deploy them to the front lines in Ukraine by the end of 2024 or to Russia’s border regions to free up Russian ‘reserves’ for combat in Ukraine,” ISW reports.

@TheOldGuy not surprising. I was fascinated with DPRK uniqueness for years and studied everything I could get my hands on. Vice did a series (after they visited DPRK as tourists, prior) where they went inside Russia to a series of logging camps almost entirely made up of DPRK workers. The workers were on 20 year slave contracts to produce Russian lumber for sale in the EU which included UK at the time.
