The footage that appeared online yesterday shows how Governor Alexander Osipov decided to first pick his nose and then wipe his snot on the head of the forestry department, Elena Shalyapina.

At that moment, the official was reporting on the situation with fires in the region.

Now the deputy chairman of the regional government, Vyacheslav Kulakov, claims that the governor was only scratching his nose:

“We discussed the situation with the governor. All that Alexander Mikhailovich remembered: a strong fire, smoke, a lot of midges... Today we found the full video - surprisingly, it turned out exactly like that. After looking at it, he said: “It’s not always possible to put out a fire, scratch your nose, and clarify the report at the same time.” Kulakov is quoted by the publication “Rise.”

The governor hopes that this situation will not upset Chaliapin, the government added.
