Trump: Putin is destroying Russia by not making a deal to end the war with Ukraine

US President Donald Trump told reporters on Monday that Putin is "destroying Russia" by refusing to make a deal to end the war in Ukraine.

"Zelensky wants to make a deal. I don't know if Putin wants that. He has to make a deal. I think he's destroying Russia by not making a deal. I think Russia is going to be in big trouble. Look at their economy, look at inflation in Russia," American media reported him as saying.

Trump also said that he could be speaking with Putin "very soon".
