A schoolteacher at an inland immigration checkpoint. they have these set up within 50 miles of the border.
@TheOldGuy
Without even watching it I'm going to say she did it wrong by talking to the officer.
Shut the fuck up.
Answer no questions and keep driving
@crosswalk @TheOldGuy Yeah, thtat's one option but she did a really good job, answering no questions and asking if she is detained and for what reason..
@wackJackle @crosswalk @TheOldGuy
Encouraging to see that Karens who can afford it make themselves useful on rare occasions.
@christophmaier @crosswalk @TheOldGuy That's life. Where Karens are, there are always good and brave Karens, too.
@wackJackle @crosswalk @TheOldGuy and also I think making them hear what she had to say was a good thing. Useing her privilege adn being less likely to get killed in the process ...
@crosswalk @TheOldGuy "keep driving" seems like a great way to die in a high speed chase.
@crosswalk @TheOldGuy she couldn't just drive on because they would have popped her tires. That's at the end when they warn her not to move the car forward and point.
@abetterjulie @TheOldGuy
You say that like it's something which I missed, in the video which I clearly stated I never watched. 😆
@crosswalk @abetterjulie @TheOldGuy If you didn't watch the video that people are talking about in the comment section of said video, you should honestly shut up instead of talking out your ass
@renardboy
I clearly stated I didn't watch the video. Not my problem if you want to ignore that.
@TheOldGuy Fourth Amendment of the Constitution is also gone. The Republic is dying infront of our own eyes.
@wackJackle @TheOldGuy
I agree.
However, these inland checkpoints have been in place for at least two decades:

This is GD Bull💩
America is a fascist country where the gestapo has free run now....
😡 😡 😡
USSR = United States of Soviet Republicans
Is there a link for this, I'd like to know how it ended.

I used to live in the mountains east of San Diego, about 8 miles from the border. Every time we went anywhere, in any direction, on any highway & even one of the side roads, just to go to the store or whatever, we had to pass through one of these. 🙄 I moved from there 5 yrs ago, so it's been happening for a while, but I imagine they've gotten less polite.
@crcollins @TheOldGuy I was wondering what that structure was
@TheOldGuy this is important to see and hear. Those of us with privilege must use it to push back.
Would you please share the source.
@TheOldGuy FYI, this took place in 2017. No doubt it's at least as bad now.
@TheOldGuy “Your papers, please.”

@TheOldGuy Doxing is legitimate when it comes to exposing fascists and their henchmen. The identity and home addresses of these fascists needs sharing.
@TheOldGuy Inland immigration checkpoint! That is seriously dystopian. All citizens (subjects) must carry identification papers at all times
@TheOldGuy do they still count any port of entry, including airports, as 'the border'?
. @TheOldGuy Just to note that this video was posted on YouTube seven years ago, still, it was during the Trump administration's first term.

"Cell phone video of a confrontation at a border patrol checkpoint is stirring up new controversy in the immigration debate. A California teacher was detained after she refused to say if she was a U.S. citizen at a checkpoint in New Mexico about 35 miles from the border."

@TheOldGuy and it's legal within 100 miles of the border (and, at least in some circuits, everywhere in the country) and has been since the 40s, and anyone who has ever complained about that and predicted these kinds of situations were called paranoid conspiracy theorists because OBVIOUSLY they'll only use such powers to go after brown people...as though that made it OK...
I remember protesting this shit when it was happening under Obama..at least more people seem to give a fuck now...
@TheOldGuy I hope this gets a thousand boosts.
