At the Ukrainian Youth Athletics Championships taking place in Lviv, 12-year-old Ukrainian athlete Matvii Strohalev set a new world record.

The young pole vaulter cleared 3.40 m, 3.60 m, and 3.80 m on his first attempts — and then soared over 4.00 meters on his third try.
