Psychedelics allegedly connect portions of our brain that rarely communicate within our rigid adult brain. Which makes me wonder, is my infant experiencing an incredible and vivid psychedelic experience?

There are only two classes in human civilization; contributors and rent seekers.

The paradox of human effort is that while each individual contribution may seem insignificant, the sum is magnificent.

When modern society is studied as an “ancient civilization”, what will we have simply “got wrong”?

Perhaps power/influence in a society always tends to concentrate; a natural law of sorts working in the reverse manner as entropy. How can an outside force counteract this phenomenon, if the outside force itself is continually corrupted by the concentrating nature of power?

Constraints are beneficial, if carefully chosen.

What is the texture of the human experience?

Is it possible (or even likely) that our universe is made up of infinite abstractions layers? Perhaps we as humans drive ourselves to madness looking for the smallest object, but there is always one smaller.

Abstraction layers are a useful concept for engineering. Yet it’s interesting to see how abstraction layers are also present in biology. Why do we often perceive only the layer of the human animal?
