So awhile back I was posting about strangely feeling tired despite getting what I thought was good rest, turns out I was screwing over my REM cycles.

@realcaseyrollins REM cycles are really important. That is the period where we sleep most deeply and dream. That's why a total 8 hours sleep is important for brain to carry out REM

@_lunawinters They typically last about 4 hours, right? So 8 hours of sleep is 2 REM cycles.

@realcaseyrollins REM sleep is deep sleep so it occurs basically in the middle of your sleep, when you're most calm.
