As I am more and more supporting and adopting #opensource and #selfhosted projects, I am also leaning towards using "open hardware", or less vendor locking. In my case that means moving away from the #apple eco-system. Has anyone taken such a step and which laptop running #linux and/or phone would be a great replacement?

@elkannixed I am also looking for an open computer. For now, I have a Thinkpad t440p, which is the last laptop from Lenovo where you can replace any piece (even the CPU can be removed, it is not soldered to the motherboard).
I don't know if there are any modern laptops that are upgradeable, but if I find anything I'll let you know.
