Not exactly.
The far left is so far to the left that it's hopped the horseshoe gap. It's too left, so it's indistinguishable from the far right.
Meanwhile, the moderate left is genuinely left-wing. It reject bigotry instead of embracing a different flavor of it.
@TruthSandwich @admitsWrongIfProven I think how you define terms doesn't really matter. The thing I was trying to say was that left-wing movements (or whatever you want to call them) tend to be reverse-bigoted and that annoys me.
Reverse-bigoted? Nah, opposing bigotry isn't reverse bigotry. But the far left has its own forms of bigotry, such as ageism and antisemitism.
@light @TruthSandwich Yeah, that is counterproductive and can lead to me not considering someone to be helpful. Beside the fascists, there are people that have similar tendencies and purport to be "left", "enlightned" and such. Don't believe every self-labeling.
@OpenComputeDesign @light @TruthSandwich I don't think there should be belief in named movements in general.
Each group should be evaluated individually and judged based on its actions.
Seems the internet just produces more work for us, letting numerous groups come to our attention and thus demanding the work of figuring out if they are genuinely what they say or not.
The older i get, the better a tiny house in the middle of the forest sounds.
Secrets
@admitsWrongIfProven @light @TruthSandwich What are the chances, that's _my_ goal.
And all my electronics will either be old or built with old philosophies (like the processor-less digital audio player I'm designing where songs are selected by a radio style "tuning" knob with direct control of the memory address)
Alas, that probably precludes my other dream of adopting a daughter. But then, my severe depression and deep seated self loathing has kinda killed that dream already, so
@admitsWrongIfProven @light @TruthSandwich The number of _violently_ hateful people claiming to be "left" these days has made me loose almost all belief in named movements :/
