As for child labour in particular, though, I think some forms of that are okay, like children helping their parents with their work on, say, a homestead or something like that.
But not all adult jobs are suitable for children ofc. For example, coal mining, or factory work.

Joke aside, i'd say chores and work might be a good distinction. The character of work in a full-time, earn a living wage sense is not something for children. Upkeep is one example where that is not the case, but not the only one. Supervision and lower frequency come to mind, those reduce stress and responsibility.
