1) He's talking to the wrong people.
2) He's talking in the wrong way.
3) He's talking about the wrong subjects.

The world is in no shortage of assholes, to be sure, left, middle, and right.

I note his use of the word "arguing", and his use of the phrase "extreme left", and I would be interested in evaluating those conversations to judge the extent of the "sneering, patronizing, self-obsessed" behavior, and from whence its source.
