I've been wondering where the grifter class Republican criminals will flee when this is all over. Russia maybe? I don't see Brazil or Argentina as options this time. Even Hungary might not be an option for much longer. Orban is looking a bit shaky.
@MaryAustinBooks @spaf Don't worry, they can just go to germany. Big revival in the works here, very enthusiastic maga-ass kissing and enthusiastic definition of outgroups, if you know what i mean.
The actual problem is where decent germans are gonna go.
@MaryAustinBooks
Eh, the decent people are looking at the US as a re-run of nazi germany, pretty scared alright. But making a connection to what is happening here would be another step.
Elon is more of a joke here, at least among people that have half a brain.
The fascism is actually coming from inside the house, media belonging to just very few, very rich people (I'm sure you heard of that from some place or other) and the usually most powerful party here turning a lot more aggressive.
You see, the "conservatives" from the CDU never did good, but the last chancellors we had from them (Helmut Kohl and Angela Merkel) were very intent on sitting things out and not stirring anything. They projected calmness and cut social benefits slowly and silently.
The latest version, though, is pretty aggressive and pointing towards poor people and foreigners while cutting social benefits - a sure way to increase AFD votes. Blame and increase the pain, gets people riled up.
So i do have the fear that AFD will take over, but that's a future concern. Right now, the formerly harmful but composed and at least superficially pretending to be not evil "conservatives" are axing what they can. Not as bad as in the US, we don't have concentration camps yet like you do. But it does feel pretty close.
@MaryAustinBooks Well, the oil mafioso is connected to our own mafiosos, so i guess that makes sense.
I always say those people are closer to each other than they are to any of their constituents, even if their constituents would not speak even one shared language.
@admitsWrongIfProven @spaf
Absolutely!
@admitsWrongIfProven @spaf
Thank you for the summary of what's going on. I knew Germany wasn't fully out of danger, just that the last election could have been much worse.
I have hope that we will shut this US regime down and the consequences for the Republicans will make Nazis in other countries think twice about doing the same. Plus, Ukraine continues their heroics and I hear there are signs of unrest in Russia. We know all roads lead to Putin, so we can hope that trend continues. 🤷🏼♀️
